Total Maxillectomy with ALT Free Flap

A 29 year old lady presents with a recurrent bony swelling in her cheek bone for last 14 years. She underwent curettage of bony tumor earlier. She underwent total removal of maxilla with reconstruction of her palate with micro vascular anterolateral thigh flap. A skin island with underlying muscle cuff from the thigh was taken and its vessels were anastomosed to the vessels in the neck. This allowed for a complete recontruction of the palate with maintenance of good contour of cheek and face.
